To my Newsvine Friends and Adversaries
Many of whom, I hold in high regard for the high quality of your replies, posts, and seeds here on Newsvine. With that said and being a very new member of Newsvine I am noticing a similar pattern when it comes to dealing with the Israeli/Palestinian Crisis. Let us start with my first post The arc, A Formal Structure for a Palestinian State produced by the Rand Corporation. I just heard about it in the last month or so. I have been on the internet trying to promote it. Hoping more people would see it as I do, a way to peace and justice. Just a little compensation for some of the Palestinian people’s great losses and sacrifices.
Now the arc only got 4 votes one of them being mine and 0 comments. The Arc, I will call a positive post that is opening new doors toward the road of peace. Another newer post of mine The State of Israel is in Bed with the Military Industrial Complex has gotten 18 votes and 29 replies. With my newest posting getting 8 votes and 24 comments. Israel Insanity Iran Nukes Here is the pattern that I am talking about, that is very alarming to me. If you try to seed or post a possible bridge (positive) to a better way it will get very little attention. If you post, clip or seed something negative or inflammatory it will get a lot more attention and response from both sides. That is made clear in many of the other posts here at Newsvine and other websites that are dealing with Middle East & Politics.
This making it very hard to find some common ground from the people on both sides. I am only hoping that what I find & learn here, as well as drop off here, will build more bridges to a road of peace. It is much easier to promote, propagate and develop a war or conflict than it is to a vision of a road to peace. Please tell me where I am wrong here in my assumptions Beside saying there will be no peace in my lifetime or there is no peaceful way. David Global/Crier
P.S. Just look how much and how easy it is to spend money to go to war and how hard it is to raise so little money for the way of peace.
